About Us
The Consortium has been serving organisations delivering public services for nearly 40 years. In that time, the nature of our customers has changed substantially, as have their requirements.
We have always sought to respond to those changing needs and Homecare from The Consortium is our response to the growing number of people seeking to stay in their own homes for longer, whether being cared for or remaining independent.
Whilst there has been much hype about Domiciliary care, there has been little development in the products needed to support carers or the cared for. Many of the products available are old fashioned, over-priced or both.
We believe that people like you deserve better!
We also believe there are large numbers of people, currently living wholly independently, who would benefit from easy access to products designed to help them get the most from life. The desire to retain independence and personal dignity is a powerful one and we believe we can help.
Using our extensive supply chain expertise, we have sourced many unique products, from around the world, and brought them together in a friendly and flexible way.
We have looked at countries where homecare is more developed and have identified some excellent products which we will be able to offer exclusively to the UK market. In the US, for instance, consumer power drives better quality, more choice and a greater focus on style when it comes to designing products. In the UK, products tend to be designed down to a price the NHS can afford.
People are affected by age and illness in many different ways. Only the individual, or their carer, can define the impact on their everyday lives. By allowing people to search for products according to that impact, we believe they will find helpful products they would never have known existed!
